GO NOLA--Evening of Day 3

After a rewarding day on our Habitat site and a much needed shower, we ventured out on our "free night" with some of our Go Group 12 friends and headed to "Ed's house".  Ed is a friend of Chris' (Chris is part of our Go Group) and lives in the French Quarter.  The pictures below are views from his balcony.  He and his family rent the top two floors of the building and it's stunning.  The inside of the house has original floors, molding and the light fixtures are beautiful.  The back of the property overlooks a beautiful courtyard.  It was really something to be invited into his home.  Thanks Ed for showing us around the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.

For whatever reason, I adore frogs and this frog is pretty cute!

Another courtyard angle--just love the pots!

Ed's pointing out something to a captive audience.  I was too busy taking pictures of the courtyard.

As a group, we decided to check out Bourbon Street--taking in the sights and sounds.  We started our evening by enjoying a fabulous dinner at Bourbon House.

The music these gentlemen shared on the street corner was incredible.  The picture doen't show, but the guy sitting is playing the drums on various sized overturned buckets.  Quite impressive!

A quiet Tuesday evening view of Bourbon Street

Enjoying a quick beverage at Pat O'Brien's--home of the Hurricane.  However, with our early mornings scheduled throughout the week, Hurricanes were not the drink of choice for our group.  We're standing in front of a flaming waterfountain.  Glad we were able to see Bourbon Street--been there, done that!
